[nonostantement #166] - top five regrets / ghost kitchens / beauty filters vs girls
NOW with MORE molecular art!
Welcome to nonostantement: a weekly newsletter with drastic, malign and charming stuff found all over the Internet.
Ciao and welcome to the one hundred and sixty-sixth episode of this newsletter, in which I collect all the interesting links that I find during the week. My name is Joele, I live in Barcelona and this is the thing I do every Sunday morning.
Soundtrack for this Sunday: Movement 6 - Floating Points, Pharoah Sanders & The London Symphony Orchestra (but you could listen to the full album - amazing cover, by the way).

[Video] - Let's start with something that will enlighten you in the morning: Watch Legend Tony Hawk Yelling "Do A Kickflip!" At Skateboarders From His Car
Isn't it a bit absurd that everyone, more or less, know very well what The Top Five Regrets of the Dying are but very often individually and in groups (as work, economic and state organizations) we do very little to avoid having them?
[Video] Continuing with absurd things, how amazing it is to be able to visit our Moon in very high definition on YouTube?
[Video] You have probably already seen it but I can not share this: a monkey plays pong with his mind.
#TECH
I have already talked about it in the past and if I were one of those who call themselves "serial entrepreneurs" and lived in a big city, right now I would be busy in my ghost kitchen. To go deeper into the topic, I recommend reading The Mysterious Case of the F * cking Good Pizza and of course Influencers are infiltrating ghost kitchens, with the help of Planet Hollywood’s founder.
#SOCIALMEDIA
I also had already talked in the past about how it is unlikely that the data provided by social and ads platforms is truly credible. This is a topic that we in the sector all know about, but it is starting to be interesting for everyone: Is online advertising about to crash, just like the property market did in 2008? - “Our tendency to believe social media platforms’ claims of effectiveness is blinding us to what they are actually delivering”.
#THEDARKSIDE
Beauty filters are changing the way young girls see themselves - a very important and very delicate topic, addressed in that interesting essay. I do not have much faith in a positive change about that (something is happening in the fashion photo sector - about the abuse of photoshop, for example - but we are still far from a real position taken by the players in that sector).
By the way - in recent weeks I have often talked exactly about this topic with people I met on online networking platforms such as Lunchclub (International) or Zwap (for Italians). I got into the habit of having a couple of meetings a week and for now they have all been very interesting ... see you over there?
That's it for now.
